Harbourside Commercial

Located within Harbourside Business Park in North Vancouver, this project overlooks the slips of the Burrard Yacht Club, and through its massing, subtly evokes the form of a boat. By using simple formal moves, the building takes on a dynamic form, becoming the centerpiece of the industrial park.

The East wall of the building slopes inward similar to the bow of a ship, while curved steel sculptural elements break up the facade, resembling wind forms.

The expressive facades required strong technical detailing, including the sloping wall detail, and the integrated sculptural steel elements. The building employs deep overhangs to protect from Southern solar gain without compromising its expansive views of Burrard Inlet.

The building is a subtle nod to its context, while maintaining an aesthetic and detail quality which ensures its durability and functionality.
